Sign The Petition: Repeal Government Run Health Care
Dear Supporters,
Last night, we witnessed the passing of a trillion dollar, government-run health care bill in our Congress. Thousands of you heeded the calls by me and other Long Islanders to contact Tim Bishop and demand he vote for you, not the special interests and the Obama-Pelosi agenda in Washington. Unfortunately, and not surprisingly, Bishop chose to stand with liberals in his party instead of Suffolk County citizens.
Health care reform should occur, our current system is unsustainable and grossly full of waste and excessive costs, but reform should occur with bipartisan talks in an open manner. That this bill was passed in the late hours on a Sunday night and crafted in numerous backroom deal-making sessions with countless special gifts is an affront to our democracy and the principles America was founded on.
Hardworking men and women across our country should have access to health insurance, regardless of pre-existing conditions or a job change. Insurance companies should compete with each other in our free market economy. Fining Americans who may not be able to afford health care coverage is not the solution, nor is it Constitutional to demand consumers purchase services that may or may not be in their best interests.
Today, I vow to you that if I am given the privilege and honor to represent Suffolk County in the U.S. House of Representatives, one of my first acts will be to move forward or support legislation which repeals this ill-conceived bill and allows us to address health care in an honest and constructive way.
But I need your help; today, the petition I created to call on Tim Bishop to oppose a government takeover of health care has been converted into one that calls for the repeal of this monstrosity.
Please sign up today and send the message to Washington, that we simply won’t accept politicians like Tim Bishop mortgaging our children’s inheritance all in an effort to expand government and reward special interests.
Sincerely,
Chris Cox
