In remarks last night at the Bridgehampton Community House, Chris Cox, Republican and Conservative candidate in the First Congressional District, repeated his call for an end to “business as usual” and praised Arizona for standing up for its citizens even as the federal government fails to do so. Cox spoke at a meeting of the East End Tea Party.
“To the applause of another group of Tea Party Patriots, Chris Cox has once again stood with the grass roots conservative activists looking to restore common sense to Washington, while Randolph Altschuler delivered another snub,” said Jim Teese, Communications Director for Chris Cox for Congress.
“As a lifelong conservative Republican, Chris Cox has earned the endorsement of the Suffolk County 9-12 Project, the largest Tea Party organization in the District, as well as other leaders in the movement,” Teese added. “Local Tea Party leaders have correctly rejected the attempt by Mr. Altschuler. It’s no wonder he refuses to face these well-informed and issue oriented audiences.”
Team Cox led a dedicated team of courageous Conservatives, Tea Party patriots, and supportive Republicans to achieve an open Conservative Congressional Primary over the no-holds-barred opposition of the Party’s leaders and its millionaire designee, Mr. Altschuler. No political observers in Suffolk or across the state can recall a prior occurrence of this unprecedented feat.
From remarks at the meeting:
Cox on “business as usual”: “With both Republicans and Democrats it is just business as usual. Well, we need to put an end to that today. No more will we stand for bloated budgets that are out of control. No more will we stand for taxes ever rising higher. We can’t become a European socialist state. I won’t let that happen while I’m in Congress,” Cox declared.
Cox on “illegal immigration”: “I know how hard so many people have fought to become citizens of this country, and I know that we need to secure our borders. That’s the obligation of the federal government and the federal government has failed. God Bless Arizona for standing up and trying to protect its citizens!”
