COX FOR CONGRESS RECEIVES ENDORSEMENT OF LARGEST TEA PARTY GROUP IN NY-1

Suffolk County 9-12 Project Stands With Cox
The Suffolk County 9-12 Project, the largest tea party group in New York’s 1st Congressional District (NY-1), today endorsed Chris Cox in his bid to unseat liberal Democrat Congressman Tim Bishop. Founded in early 2009, the Suffolk County 9-12 Project has nearly 1,000 members across Suffolk County, ninety-five percent reside in NY-1, who believe public officials should be held to account for their decisions and we must restore conservative principles to our government.

“We are proud to be announcing our support for the most conservative, pragmatic and dedicated candidate in this race,” said Bob Meyer, President of the Suffolk County 9-12 Project. “Our members overwhelmingly found Chris to be exactly what Suffolk County needs, a leader who will represent his constituents in Congress, not special interests or party bosses. Chris’ primary opponent, Randy Altschuler, was deemed completely unsupportable by our board members who found his past history of getting rich off the backs of hardworking Americans by outsourcing their jobs reprehensible, not to mention his history as a liberal Green Party member that calls into question his self-proclaimed background as a conservative Republican. We will fight alongside Chris, going door to door, organizing rallies and distributing literature to ensure that Chris wins this primary and is able to oust Tim Bishop from office in November.”

“Like the nearly 1,000 members of Suffolk County 9-12, I am concerned with the direction of our country,” said Chris Cox. “The liberal Democratic Congress continues to pass job-killing legislation that tramples on our Constitutional rights and imposes unfair burdens on hardworking Americans. This November, we will send a message to Washington and Albany that we are sick and tired of higher taxes, out-of-control spending and a skyrocketing national debt that is mortgaging our children and grandchildren’s future. As a proud conservative Republican, I am grateful for the support of Bob Meyer and the Suffolk County 9-12 Project.”

A life-long conservative Republican, the grandson of former President Richard Nixon and successful businessman, Chris Cox is a steadfast, fiscal conservative who will go to Washington and deliver the effective conservative leadership that Long Islanders are clamoring for. Chris will work to cut taxes and put more money back in the hands of American families and small businesses. He will refuse to support and fight against the tax increases proposed by the Obama Administration and Congressional Democrats. In addition, Cox promises to support legislation that repeals the trillion dollar government takeover of our nation’s health care system by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Congressman Tim Bishop. He understands that Americans need affordable health care, but will not sacrifice the excellent quality of our country’s health care or impose job-killing mandates on individuals or small businesses.
